Our December activities included a “Meet a Scientist” event taking place as a Zoom webinar on 21 December 2020. Organizing and moderating a gathering with over one hundred and twenty participants from Poland, Portugal, Turkey and the United States was very exciting and fulfilling experience for our teams. The participants included students, teachers, eTwinning coordinators and principals from our partner schools. We had the honor and pleasure of hosting the Director of Education for Agri Province and Kucuk Cekmece District from the Turkish Ministry of Education. Our short presentation about our eTwinning project was followed by a presentation by Professor Alper Bozkurt from North Carolina State University in the United States. He presented about various plant communication techniques, how engineering is trying to reshape the agricultural practices and importance of plants for the sustainability of our planet. The students had an ample time for interaction and questions and answers after the presentation. We are grateful for eTwinning for providing an international and inclusive platform and opportunity for such an unforgettable experience for our students and teachers. We also thank Prof. Alper Bozkurt and all the participants for their time and interests.
