I felt pleasant to meet every team( Poland, Portugal and Turkey), but at the same time I felt upset to see everybody last time. I hope we may come together in another project. From the beginning of this project, we have had so many  interesting, informative works that we remember them throughout our life. Thanks to all of you :)

 Songs of the mushrooms.

Can mushrooms sing or generate music? Apparently yes, with the help of engineers with an artistic spirit...

 Internet of Mussels

Samsun Osmangazi Secondary School had hosted online guest scientist Prof. Alper Bozkurt for our EU-Twinning project. Prof. Bozkurt's team now developed internet-of-mussels by attaching fitbits to mussels and clams. His team in North Carolina State University says that these mussels with fitbits can tell us when the environment gets polluted. Similar to canaries warning about earthquakes or dangerous gasses in mines, these animals can tell us if something goes wrong under the sea. Such a great idea!

Interesting news: Glow in the dark fungi...

North Carolina State University scientists and students genetically modified fungi to glow in the dark. Can you imagine glowing trees instead of street lights? It causes zero environmental pollution and looks very natural.

This week in New Scientist Magazine (available in newspaper shops or bookstores): Interview with Dr. Suzanne Simard. In 1997 she discovered that forest trees share and trade food via fungal networks that connect their roots. Her research on “the wood wide web” made the cover of Nature. She now found that these trees has a wide network in the forest even trading food with each other.
